The primary purpose of this committee is to form, promote, and assist ministries in the areas of charity and justice. The ministries would be involved in both "in parish" as well as "outside parish" activites. The ministries of charity and justice are from the teachings of our Lord and the teachings of the Church.
Some of our current activites include:
Our Community Garden - which has provided vegatables for the parish and local food banks.
Fair Trade - Fair Trade businesses are invited to show their crafts.
Tree of Sharing - items have been collected for St Margarets Shelter, the House of Charities, and unwed mothers. This past year, we collected clothing for the children at Otis Elementary and Mission Community Outreach Center.
Bite to Go - a program that provides food for the weekend by slipping it into a child's backpack on Friday afternoon. Teachers help identify children they know who go without food on weekends.
